Voyager Estate Wine Tasting

Voyager Estate’s introduction to wine tasting.

Learn to decipher the language of wine with Voyager Estate’s Introduction to Wine Tasting, an informal and fun introduction to the techniques of wine tasting.

Limited to 8 people, Sommelier Claire Tonon will help you identify what it is that makes you like or dislike wines, and to understand wine reviews.
Look at wine from a three step approach of appearance, aroma and taste and learn to identify its principal elements – sugar, tannins,  alcohol, acidity, body, intensity and character.

The main characteristics of Margaret River varietals such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon will be explored through the practical explanation of key wine descriptors.

Armed with the information gained in this 45 minute interactive session, we encourage you to develop your new tasting skills by visiting Margaret River’s cellar doors.
Introduction to Wine Tasting is $20 per person, which is refundable on wine purchases on the day, and is held each Saturday at 10.30am at Voyager Estate.
Bookings are essential. Please call the Wine Room on 08 9757 6354 or email

About Benji

I am married and live on a farm near Margaret River with my wife, daughter and son. I set up The Margaret River Guide to assist people coming to Margaret River Western Australia to easily find what they are looking for. I also wanted to allow people to find activities they did not know about and to be able to openly comment on/ review businesses.

  1. HI Adam, yes nothing like a smaller group. Claire from Voyager is taking the tours at present and the tours are very popular already. Looking forward to a tour myself.

The 3 step approach works really well, especially in smaller groups. Can’t wait to try this!
