Enjoy Disco This Easter

An Easter Saturday Disco will be held on Saturday, 6-9pm, at the Augusta Mini Golf, Allnutt Terrace. It will be a family-friendly, all-ages event with an admission price of $7 that also includes a drink and pack of chips. There will be live entertainment by DJ Rice Bubble, arcade games, laser lights, trampolines, pool tables, mini golf, lolly bags, cool drinks as well as a fundraising sausage sizzle for Augusta Family and Community Hub Playground Project.

Local Store Outshines The Rest

Home Timber and Hardware Store Margaret River has been named WA’s Home Timber and Hardware Store of the Year. The store received the award for its unmatched customer commitment and retail excellence. The announcement was made during the Danks National Trade Show & Conference held at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre from March 5 to 7. Store manager Paul Brown attributed the achievement to the joint efforts of the staff.

Junior Footballers Back In Action

Football season is just around the corner and junior players will be looking smart in their new jumpers. Junior football training will kick off soon, with Margaret River juniors to train at Gloucester Park on the 03rd of April.  Anybody who hasn’t registered yet can download their registration form from the Sporting Pulse website. Celebrity Surfer Visits School

WA professional surfer Felicity Palmateer last week paid a visit to Margaret River Primary School to share her experiences at the World Qualifying Series tour with students. She also talked about the need to be fit, healthy and mentally focused for competitions. Felicity, who is a cousin of local surfing coach Josh Palmateer, said that she loved spending her time around Margaret River when she isn’t juggling a busy surfing schedule.

New Advanced Vehicles For Police

You can expect the police to be more efficient over the weekend as they use brand-new concept vehicles to patrol Margaret River. Also known as the advanced traffic management car, the new model is designed to automatically identify car registration details. The data appears on a big computer screen inside the vehicle, which also provides instant info on drivers’ licenses and personal details. Other features include cameras on the back and front, an extra-loud siren and super-bright LED lights.

Pro Attracts Largest Crowd Ever

Judges say that the crowd at Sunday’s finals of the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro 2013 was the largest turn out they have seen in the history of the event. The Pro drew a huge crowd to enjoy the finals at Surfers Point, as Australian east coast surfers Josh Kerr and Tyler Wright faced Hawaiians Dusty Payne and Carissa Moore in a battle for glory.
