Night Bus Service Launched

The Chauffeur Bus will launch a Community Night Bus Service for Easter Saturday and Sunday, and Friday and Saturday nights from then onward. The distinctive white and black bus will depart from outside Settlers Tavern at the closing time and its route will include Gnarabup, Prevelly, Rapids Landing and Brookfield Estate. The aim is to ensure that passengers are transported back home safely after the closure of the licensed premises, reduce drunk driving and help quickly disperse crowds from the town’s main street. Marine Park Gala

For celebrating the new Ngari Capes Marine Park, the Surfrider Margaret River is inviting everybody who has played a part in making this park a reality to a morning tea at the Main Break, Surfer’s Point, on Good Friday, 10.00am. Anyone who has attended a meeting or presentation, written a letter or offered support to the marine park is invited to attend the event for hot cross buns and hot drinks. Busselton Businessman Dies In Shark Attack

The husband of Busselton City councillor Debra Kurmann was killed in a deadly shark attack that occurred near Busselton. 33-yr-old Peter Kurmann was diving along with his brother around a nautical mile offshore when the attack happened south of the Stratham Beach. A nearby vessel helped Peter’s brother, Gian, recover his corpse and set off the alarm. The victim is a renowned local businessman.

Easter Alert For Dogs

With Easter just around the corner, Margaret River Vet Hospital is reminding people to not allow their dogs come near chocolate, due to risks of toxicity. Varying amount and kinds of chocolate can be poisonous for dogs- the darker and more bitter, the more poisonous it is. According to Vet Michel Doney, Easter egg poisoning usually occurs when dogs find eggs that have been hidden, or that kids place on their beds.  Chocolate raises the dog’s heartbeat and may result in seizures and death.

Circus Joy For Fire Victims

The Circus World Action Park and Simmo’s have donated mini golf and circus passes to the Margaret River families affected by last year’s bushfires, valid for these school vacations, April 07th – 21st. Also, earnings from the circus on Sat, April 14th will go to these families. Garth Simpson, owner of Simmo’s, said: “It’s a small gesture that we hope will bring a little laughter to the families affected by the devastating fires.”

Cullen Wines To Reveal Its Secrets

Vanya Cullen, chief winemaker at Cullen Wines, has always believed that vineyard practice is all about “bringing the land to the glass”. Cullen is now offering tastings and private tours to share some secrets about the company’s history, philosophy and use of biodynamic. Stuart McMillan, brand ambassador of Cullen Wines, said: “What we take from the land is put back. It’s always been our philosophy,” before adding, “It’s a cross between science and a holistic approach.”
