Local Runners To Show Support To Boston Victims

The Margaret River Running Group are holding a memorial run on Sun, April 28th to express their support to the victims of the Boston Marathon bomb blasts. Sponsored by White Elephant CafĂ©, the run will be held from Gracetown to Gnarabup at 2.00 pm. The event is open to everybody, with a minimal fee. Local Cartoonist “Exposed”

Local cartoonist Baz of Margaret River Mail is one of the numerous faces captured for Michelle Troop’s art initiative, Margaret River Exposed. The photograph has gathered around 50 black and white portrait images that will now be installed around the town. Garage Sale To Help Local Underwater Hockey Player

A garage sale is being held to help local Sunny Pasco travel with Australia’s women underwater hockey team to Hungary to participate in the world championships. The sale will take place at Townview Terrace this Saturday, from 8 am to 3 pm. The items on sale will include collective surfboards and vinyl records. The world championships will take place in August.

Insurance Advice For Fire Victims

People affected by the 2011 Margaret River bushfires have an opportunity to learn about the insurance claims process during a free seminar taking place at the Augusta-Margaret River Shire Civic Administration Centre on Wednesday, May 01st, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Army Visit To Discuss Future Prospects

Officials of the Australian Defence Force paid a visit to Margaret River Senior High School last Thursday to discuss careers in the security forces. Senior students were given information and advice on career development opportunities, as well as the entry requirements and perquisites from the university level. The school also recently had visits from different Western Australian universities.

Historical Fair To Celebrate 100 Years

Everybody is invited to join the 100-year anniversary celebrations for Margaret River townsite at Historical Fair & Settlers Picnic taking place this Saturday at the Old Settlement precinct, from 10 am to 2 pm. The celebration is one of the five high-profile commemorative events scheduled for 2013 and will feature vintage stalls, makers markets, live music entertainment, food and drinks. Entry to the fair is free.
