Festival Of Busselton Returns For Its 50th Year

2014 will mark 50 years of the Festival of Busselton and over 25 events are scheduled to be held in the City. There is sure to be lots of fun and enjoyment for everyone, so make sure to come down and join in the action.

Deckchair cinemas in Busselton and Dunsborough; Pirates Competition aboard the STS Leeuwin on the Busselton Jetty; Children’s Treasure Hunt; Fishing Clinic; Petticoat Lane; Sandcastle Competition; Float Parade; Teddy Bears’ Picnic; as well as a Closing Night Concert to be followed by dazzling fireworks– these are just a few events that the Festival of Busselton and related community groups will hold in 2014.

As well as these, there will be numerous minor events including Tiny Tot, Logo Chops, Children’s Chalk Art, Deckchair Theatre, Aerial Firefighting Display, Duck Drop, Junior Fishing Competition, Flare Demonstration and Pet Parade.

The Beach Festival will then kick off in the final weekend of January. There will be heats of the Battle of the Bands followed by the Rotary Club’s Australia Day Breakfast, an evening and afternoon of Tribal Mix and more fireworks after that.

Most of the events are free to attend, though a gold coin donation is desired at some of the major ones in order to cover costs.

Taking place since 1964, the Festival of Busselton is designed to make visitors to the City more welcome, and provide plenty of activities to enjoy during the summer season. With an array of community events, aquatic activities, live music and much more, the Festival is entertaining for all ages and backgrounds.
