Geographe Bay Race Week Returns

Experience the fun and excitement of Western Australia’s biggest yachting regatta as Geographe Bay Race Week returns this February.

The article “Geographe Bay Race Week 2013″ has full details on this event. It says the following: “Hosted by the local Geographe Bay Yacht Club, Geographe Bay Race Week is the largest Yachting Regatta in WA and will be held from February 15th to February 22nd 2013 on Geographe Bay.  The annual Geographe Bay Race Week 2013 will once again sail out of the Port Geographe Marina, located 107 nautical miles from Fremantle and just 10 kilometres east of Busselton town centre.” http://www.gbyc.com.au/

Richard Fairfax Court AC has been a patron of the event ever since its launch and he said recently that Geographe Bay Race Week continued to be a highlight of Western Australia’s yachting calendar and a major drawcard for tourists in the south west.

The growth of Geographe Bay Race Week is a proof of its success and growing popularity among the yachting community. The seven-day event is designed by sailors for sailors. It draws around 1,000 sailors and 100 yachts and features a range of exciting on-shore activities.

Thanks to the introduction of “Super 30’s” category in 2013, Geographe Bay Race Week continues to grow bigger and better. The new category is designed to accommodate yachts like Thompson 870’s, Bull 9000’s, Flying Tigers and other similar designs.
