Apple Festival Promises Endless Fun

Endless amount of fun and joy await you at the Donnybrook Apple Festival taking place at WA’s apple capital of Donnybrook on the weekend of March 30th and 31st. This is a celebration of the delectable varieties of apples that Donnybrook is famous for. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Grab A Granny’.

The news article “Donnybrook Apple Festival” has all the information you need about the event. It says the following: “There are a range of activities providing non-stop entertainment for the entire family such as face painting, pony rides, agricultural and machinery displays, log chops, wine tastings, free children’s activities, live music, animal exhibits, street parade, Sideshow Alley, market stalls and a spectacular Fireworks display on Saturday Night.”

The first Donnybrook Apple Festival was held in 1954 to promote the Apple and Pear industry and showcase the quality produce of the south west region. Easter continues to be the perfect period for the festival, when there is plenty of fresh produce with pears and apples abound, and the last lot of summer fruits still available. Today, the region produces a wide range of vegetables, fruits and both wine and table grapes. The Donnybrook Apple Festival regularly draws crowds of more than 10,000 travellers to the region.

The major attraction in the Fresh Produce Tent will be non-stop tastings of different kinds of fruit and other local produce varieties, plus audio visual demonstrations of fruit production activities.

The Donnybrook Apple Festival remains one of the most popular events in the calendar of the local Donnybrook community promoting the district, the town and the wide range of produce that is grown there.

Thanks to the Year of the Farmer and State Government, the organisers of the festival are able to provide free entry for children under 12 years this year. It is no surprise that there will be many free fun-filled activities for children at the Donnybrook Apple Festival. This is the 59th year of the festival. It is going to be the 38th event overall and 28th in Donnybrook. You can expect this year’s event to be bigger and better than ever before. So make sure not to miss it. Convince your family and friends to come along.
