Darby Park Wins Silver At Tourism Awards

At the recent WA Tourism Awards, Darby Park Serviced Residences based in Margaret River won Silver in the fiercely contested “Deluxe Accommodation” category. Darby Park topped this year’s awards for accommodation houses located in the Margaret River Region.

Deputy Prime Minister Julie Bishop was among approximately 1000 guests who attended the event at Burswood ballroom on Saturday, November 09th. The night saw prizes handed out in 31 different categories. Bronze, silver and gold medals were awarded in most categories and the gold medalists will now represent the State at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.

Run by the ever-cheerful Vanessa Thomson and her dedicated staff, Darby Park provides exceptional service and is idyllically situated in the town centre and on the edge of the forest. Within a short walking distance of cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and galleries and a leisurely drive to wineries and the beach, Darby Park is superbly positioned for tourists visiting this corner of the world. The tennis court, heated pool, games room, exclusive bar, private balconies, fitness facility and free WIFI are some of the facilities that this 4.5 star apartment resort hotel has to offer.

Darby Park takes pride in its long and interesting history. Formerly the Freycinet Inn, the building was transformed into an apartment resort in the year 2003. Original timbers in the central entrance building were retained and the location close to the forest edge was utilised to its full potential in designing the new complex.
