Goanna Cafe Media Release Spring 2011

Set in beautiful native bushland just 10 minutes inland from Dunsborough, Goanna Gallery & Café has it all. A great relaxed atmosphere with fabulous food, delicious organic fairtrade coffee and homemade cakes surrounded by interesting artwork from local artists and a treasure trove of giftware. Serving breakfast and lunch Wednesday to Sunday all year round, taste the love in our food from Scottish born chef Duncan and his team as we aspire to deliver quality, value and flair through our simple, honest food sourced from quality producers and suppliers both local and throughout WA. Our family friendly environment allows parents to relax while the kids explore the bush and little ones play in the sand pit and play area. BYO to add that extra special touch to your meal.

On a Sunday morning, we’re the only place to be for brekky. It doesn’t need to be simple bacon and eggs (although wait until you’ve tried our poached eggs), be adventurous and try one of our gourmet alternatives, Spanish chorizo with spiced potatoes or one of our most popular dishes – spicy Indo rice with a fried egg, avocado, spinach and pesto… just mouthwatering.

Hearty soups and unique and delicious taste plate are among a host of treats on our lunch menu that includes our renowned fillet steak sandwich, which we dare not take off the menu for fear of a local outcry! Our taste plate changes throughout the year, but offers a variety of flavours such as our own Pork and Prune terrine, spicy falafel, succulent garlic & chilli prawns and selection of cheeses and beautifully marinated vegetables from the chargrill. We make our own beer bread to compliment this in addition to the fantastic Yallingup Woodfired bread delivered daily.

There is a good variety on the menu from gourmet salads to more hearty fair and for those of you who just want a light bite we have a Tapas/entrée menu which includes the choice of olives, dukkah, spicy chicken wings, chorizo and others.

Enjoy the wildlife and relax in the afternoon with coffee, tea, homemade cakes and some of the best scones around. We welcome you to share the convivial experience at Goanna Cafe and look forward to your visit.

About Benji

I am married and live on a farm near Margaret River with my wife, daughter and son. I set up The Margaret River Guide to assist people coming to Margaret River Western Australia to easily find what they are looking for. I also wanted to allow people to find activities they did not know about and to be able to openly comment on/ review businesses.
