Uncomplicated instrumentation and honest vocals have become trademarks of Short and Curly’s sound. Likewise, they aim to achieve clarity and directness in their songwriting. Curly composes bulk of the music and Short writes bulk of the lyrics, and it all combines to create a sound that is groovy and fresh. Had they been a drink, they would’ve been a combination of mint and iced pineapple juice. The duo recorded their debut CD, Where Our Paths Cross, in 2010. It features 11 of their original songs.
Short and Curly reside in an old timber lodge on a hill in Bridgetown, a small beautiful town located in Western Australia’s South West corner. The duo is part of a vibrant music scene where artists hook up at sheds, pubs and an enchantingly rustic venue known as the Rendezvous of Arts. Bridgetown also plays host to the popular Blues at Bridgetown festival each November.
Short and Curly are coming to Margaret River to perform at Settlers Tavern this February. If you want to see these talented artists perform live, make sure not to miss this event.
