The Margaret River Vintage Stomp celebration is the culmination of one of the region’s most important events – the grape harvest.
Voyager Estate Winery will once again host the Margaret River Vintage Stomp in 2011, with the vineyard being transformed into an especially festive place, commencing with a Grand Parade and “The Blessing of the Harvest” led by Bacchus, the Roman God of Wine. Join the local wine community in a celebration of food and wine, featuring local arts and craft, live performances by acrobats and circus artists, “living” sculptures, a grape-stomping competition and barrel race set amongst Voyager Estate’s renowned South African werf gardens.
In keeping with the annual tradition of celebrating harvests around the world, the 2011 Margaret River Vintage Stomp at Voyager Estate has a German theme.
The Margaret River Vintage Stomp is suitable for the entire family with everything from a children’s playground for the young ones, to wine tastings for the adults. Teams from the local wine industry will compete for the glory and honour of their wineries in the Barrel Race, the Waiters’ Race and the Tug of War, culminating in the Celebrity Stomp.
