A team of local artists, headed by Mark Heussenstamm, will memorialise their losses from last year’s Margaret River fires in an art exhibition entitled Friendly Fire. The event will be held at Riflebutts Reserve from Sat, February 18th to Mon, April 30th.
The Friendly Fire Exhibition will boast a Hanging Tree where members of the local community can hang scorched or melted items, so as to say goodbye to the stuff they have lost.
Mr. Heussenstamm is encouraging all poets, storytellers and artists to take part in the exhibition and will welcome to his studio all those who want to craft their own pieces of art to be put on display.
Members of the community are encouraged to bring a picnic to the venue on Sat, February 18th from 6.00 pm onward to mark the inauguration of the exhibition.
For further details or if you are interested in getting involved call Mr. Heussenstamm at 0447 721 100 or contact Shire Recovery Project Officer Gemma Mincherton at 9780 5269.
